So, you have sorted out your software needs, but when it comes to POS hardware, what do you need? Whether you have been running your business for awhile, or if you are just starting out, the range of POS hardware can be baffling. As money is an issue for many businesses, you have to buy what you need to grow your business and not fall for sales pitches. So it's worth taking the time to look carefully at what you need, rather than you want, and do some research on cost and the various packages that are available.

One consideration is whether it is more cost-effective to buy your POS hardware as a package, or as individual items. Some packages will meet your exact requirement. However, don't forget that automating your business will help it grow. You may be able to find a package that includes installation, which is great for you if you have little or limited technical knowledge. And you feel confident that you have enough technical knowledge to install them, then it may save you money in the long run, as you can buy many items from different distributors. • A cash drawer - automatic.
